Kevin & Mickayla
A wedding story shaped through conversations, personal interviews and a three-person team, from the proposal to the day itself.
The challenge
A wedding film has to do more than document a timetable. Every couple has a relationship, a sense of humour and a way of seeing themselves. Kevin and Mickayla's story needed a form that felt specific to them, while still leaving room for the surprises and movement of the day.
What we did
We started before the wedding day by speaking to the couple, learning the moments and relationships that mattered, and recording interviews to give their own voices a place in the film. One of our favourite questions to ask couples is which films they love: it gives us a reference for mood and rhythm without forcing their wedding into somebody else's template.
On the day, the three-person team worked across filming, photography, communication and the changing schedule. Our preparation made it easier to adapt when the real day unfolded differently from the plan.
What we set up
- Pre-wedding conversations and personal interviews
- Story structure informed by the couple's tastes
- Three-person production team
- Wedding-day cinematography and still photography
- Post-production with interview-led storytelling
- Private gallery delivery and media handover
What we delivered
A wedding trailer, a longer wedding film, and selected photography delivered through Odelana's private client-gallery workflow.
The outcome
This project sits within a longer story: from filming the couple's proposal to documenting their wedding. That continuity meant we could bring a deeper understanding of their relationship to the final films.
